MadKap Productions is holding auditions for The Lightning Thief: A Percy Jackson Musical by Joe Tracz with music and lyrics by Rob Rokicki, adapted from the book The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. Directed by Miranda Coble and produced by Maddy Shilts with music direction by Jeremy Ramey.

Summary: When Percy Jackson finds out he's the son of Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea, his life gets a little weird. And scary. Banding together with his best friend Grover Underwood and new friend Annabeth Chase, he embarks on an adventure of a lifetime to find Zeus's stolen master bolt and save his mom! The trio has until the Summer Solstice to find and return the bolt or the Olympians will go to war, wreaking havoc on the mortal world as they do. Not only that but Percy has to learn to navigate this new world of gods and monsters and save the world all while trying to uncover the traitor at Camp Half-Blood. No sweat, right? He didn't want to be a half-blood. But he's going to do everything he can to see this dam thing through!

We intend to bring a unique perspective to Percy's story and world by highlighting the queerness inherent in the narrative and are open to changing the pronouns of characters. As such, MadKap is seeking 8 versatile actors of any race and gender to play the following roles and especially encourages performers who identify as transgender and nonbinary to audition.
