Description:
Riverfront Playhouse, 11-13 Water Street, Aurora, announces auditions for The Lifespan of a Fact by Jeremy Kareken, David Murrell and Gordon Farrell on Sunday 2/4 and Tuesday 2/6 from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Directed by Marge Uhlarik-Boller, the play explores the true experience of fact checker Jim Fingal and author John D'Agata as they disassemble an essay and disagree about its truth. At once funny and timely, The Lifespan of a Fact is a wonderful piece of modern theatre.
Roles available:
Jim (age range 20s-30) -a fresh-out-of-Harvard fact checker for a prominent, but failing, New York magazine. He's an intern with a confidence beyond his years (and perhaps, his reality) in his knowledge, and a sense of the clear black and white of facts of the world.
John (age range 40-60) -a talented writer with a transcendent essay about the suicide of a teenaged boy-an essay that could save the magazine from collapse. He is less worried about the facts than the flow of the story and is sure his audience will be too.
The role of editor, Emily Penrose, has been precast.
The Lifespan of a Fact runs March 15- April 13, Fridays and Saturdays with Sunday performances on 3/31 and 4/7.
Actors will be asked to read from the script. Prepared monologues are not required but are welcome.
