Description:
Vito’s Vault, a new Roaring Twenties musical in Jefferson Park, will be auditioning men and women for an ongoing production. The venue is a dinner-theatre speakeasy set in 1920s Chicago, in which the performers serve dinner and drinks in character, then perform in a 90-minute musical review and sketch comedy show. These are paid positions.
We are looking for energetic, dynamic actors who can portray a believable character from this era. Women must sing and dance, men must sing and be able to move; all must be able to multi-task. Waiting experience is a plus, but not necessary. You must be at least 21 years old, and you must be available weekend nights, Thursday through Sunday.
Auditions will be held Monday, February 12, 2024 at Vito’s Vault, 5901 West Lawrence Ave, Chicago. This is an open call, no appointments. Auditions will start promptly at 6pm.
-Please prepare 16-32 bars of a song from the 1920s or 30s that best shows off your voice (Cole Porter, George Gershwin, or similar style). You may be asked to sing additional material and/or do a reading from a script.
-Women be prepared to do a short combination of jazz and tap. Please bring dancewear, tap shoes, and character shoes.
-Men be prepared to move.
-Bring headshot and resume.
-There is free parking available in our lot. There is a bus stop directly outside the front door on Lawrence Avenue, and the closest train is the Jefferson Park blue line.
