Fat Theatre Project seeks actors for their upcoming summer production of The InterPlays by Eileen Tull, Allison Fradkin, Sarah Katherine Bowden, and Melody DeRogatis.
Note: Casting for this production is in conjunction with Berger Park Theatre's production of No Exit by Jean Paul Satre. If you do not wish to be considered for No Exit, please indicate so on the audition form.
Fat Theatre Project is a new creative collective that seeks to tells stories by/about/for/with fat people. We work with collaborators of all sizes with focus on those with lived fat experience.
The Play: The InterPlays is a series of short plays focused on dating and romantic relationships. When the plays are put together, they tell a story of love and its many facets and phases. The InterPlays will celebrate the throes and joys of love- in all of its shapes and sizes.
Payment: Actors will be paid an initial stipend of $50, with an additional 5% (per actor) of all ticket donation proceeds received.
Rehearsals will take place at Berger Park and a variety of library spaces on the North side of Chicago. Rehearsals will run three times a week, a mixture of weeknights and weekends throughout July and early August.
Performances:The InterPlays will perform on the following days between August 9th - 25th, with exact performances as follows:
9 - 10 at 7:30PM
11th at 2PM
12th at 7:30PM
17th at 7:30PM
18th at 2PM
18th at 4:30PM
24th at 7:30PM
25th at 2PM
25th at 4:30PM
The play may also run at Elgin Fringe Fest at the end of September, to be determined in late April.

To audition for The InterPlays, submit a video of a 1-minute contemporary monologue of your choice- please try to pick material that you truly love performing, and that you feel is one of the best representations of you! (This could mean telling us a short story, too.) Additionally, if you consider yourself somebody who sings- please prepare a few bars of a song you like to sing, a capella.
