Description:

The Playhouse Children's Theatre is looking for a director for youth plays in Tinley Park.

We are an independent children's theatre company who maintains a contract with the Tinley Park Park District. We have two seasons a year, January-May and August-December. A director will be expected to direct one show every season. We perform 4 shows a season divided by age groups ranging from 6-17. Plays will be family friendly and age appropriate for performers.

A director must be able to pass a criminal background check.

A director would need to be available Saturdays for rehearsals and for all evening tech/dress rehearsals and show dates on one weekend.

We are looking for driven, creative individuals who are passionate about theatre and working with children.

A good applicant would have experience in the following areas
1. Performing in, directing and/or doing tech for either professional or community theatre
2. Working with children professionally or through volunteer work
3. Working well with others and being able to communicate efficiently with parents and other directors

Pay: A stipend for every show you direct.
