Description:
The Factory Theater is seeking Black actors for both main cast and understudy roles for Inheritance or Brothers from the Deep, written by Michael Jones and directed by Jamaque Newberry. We are seeking actors of all sizes, abilities, and gender identities to submit.
Show Description: It's very late. What are Marcus and Bentley doing fishing in weather like this? You know those two, they've been through a lot. That storm is bringing a lot more to the surface than just the fish. Inheritance -or- Brothers from the Deep is a play about family, tradition, and the things we held on to.
Virtual Submissions: Due by 11:59 PM on Saturday, 06/08, In-Person Callbacks will take place on Sunday, June 16th from 7:00-10:30 PM
Characters:
Bentley (Black, late 20s-mid 30s): Older. Square. Troubled. Though his present is a success, he is haunted by his past. He's fearful of what lies within him. He is eccentric, and knows it. He wants to protect.
Marcus (Black, early-late 20s): Younger. Cool. At Peace. Burnout on the surface, Marcus is living a life he is very happy with. He holds the good with the bad. He wants to heal.
There will also be some puppeteering involved in this production.
