Description:
The Palos Village Players are excited to announce the World premiere of "My Kind of Christmas," by playwright Dana Hall. This modern holiday comedy with heart, is set in the suburbs of Chicago.
Rehearsals will be Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday evenings.
Performance dates are November 15, 16, 17, 22, and 23rd.
Synopsis: David has lost his enthusiasm for Christmas after his grown children have moved out. However, the magic of the holiday season may have other plans for him. Will he be able to rediscover his love for the holidays, or will he remain lost in the memories of Christmases past?
Characters:
David Smith: (Male, 50s) Husband to Jennifer.
Jennifer Smith: (Female, 50s) Wife to David.
Sarah Smith: (Female 28s) Daughter. Also plays an 8 year old version of herself.
Steven Smith: (Male, 30s) Also plays a 10 year old version of himself.
Raymond Smith: (Male, 70s) Father of David and husband to Gloria.
Gloria Smith: (Female, 70s) Mother of David and wife to Raymond.
Christmas Carolers: (Ensemble, various ages) a spirited group of singers, dressed traditionally. Always in the holiday spirit.
Robbers: (Ensemble, various ages) A group of angels who have come down to Earth as thieves to help save Christmas.
*Carols will be sung in the show, but this is not a musical. All voices are welcome.
Audition Dates: September 4th and 5th, 7:00-9:30pm. You only need to attend one day.
Callbacks will be scheduled as needed.
Auditions will consist of cold reads from the script.
Bring a list of conflicts with you to the audition.
