Description:

Lifeline Theatre is looking for actors to submit video auditions for their upcoming production, Kid Prince & Pablo, based on The Prince and the Pauper by Mark Twain, written by Brian Quijada with music by Marvin Quijada, and directed by Raquel Torre. This is a non-union production.

Actors will need to prepare sides, 16-32 bars of rap, and possibly a demonstration of percussion skills (optional). Specific materials and instructions will be sent upon submission.

Cast of Characters (Please read these descriptions thoroughly before submitting):
-Maximillion Washington, AKA Kid Prince- Male Identifying, 20s, Any Race. The young prince and heir to the throne. A fun-loving, spoiled, wanna-be MC. Hasn't experienced hardship, but loves the world of hip-hop and dance. Must rap (perhaps not well) and finger drum.

-Pablo- Male Identifying, 20s, BIPOC, Spanish Speaker. "Part-time drummer boy, daytime street performer, full-time sweetheart". Earnest and full of heart. Has a passion for reading and yearns to go to school. Lives with his mom, who he loves more than anything. Must be strong physical actor. Must play hand percussion and finger drums.

-Lanhorne- Female Identifying, Any Age, Any Race, Spanish Speaker. One of our three MCs of the show, telling this story with hype, wit, and charm. Langhorne also plays:
o Cecilia: Pablo's mother, full of love and worry for her son
o Queen Olivia: Austere and somewhat condescending. Very sick.
o Francois: A premier MC, and one of the leaders of the rebellion. Must be strong physical actor. MUST rap.

-Samuel- Any gender, Any Age, Any Race. One of our three MCs of the show, telling this story with hype, wit, and charm. Samuel also plays:
o Harold: The prince's royal advisor. A stickler for the rules, but has Kid Prince's back.
o Archer: A breakdancer and rebel. Tough, but earnest.
o Sparrow: Freestyler and rebel. Rocket's right hand.
Must be strong physical actor. MUST rap.

-Clemens- Any gender, Any Age, Black. One of our three MCs of the show, telling this story with hype, wit, and charm. Clemens also plays:
o General Jackson: Queen Olivia's advisor, and commander of the Queen's Army. Wishes for stricter laws and harsher punishments for the rebels. Cunning.
o Rocket: a premier freestyler, and one of the leaders of the rebellion. Passionate andruthless.
Must be strong physical actor. MUST rap.
