Synopsis:
Jean Racine's classic and gripping telling of Phedre delves into the human psyche, exploring the tumultuous emotions of its characters. Set in ancient Greece, during a time of political turmoil, the play tells the story of Phedre, who is consumed by a forbidden love for her stepson, Hippolytus. As her secret passion comes to light, it sets off a chain of events marked by jealousy, deceit, and ultimately, tragedy.
The production is seeking an understudy for:
Theseus: The king and husband of Phedre, whose return from a journey sets the tragedy in motion. 30s-50s masc
Understudies are guaranteed at least TWO performances.
Time Commitment & Important Information:
Rehearsals: September 22 - November 7th
Performances: November 8th - 24th
Pay: percentage of ticket sales.
