AUDITION MATERIAL
Once upon a farm there was a Little Red Hen. Hey, that's me! And on that farm, the Little Red Hen and all the rest of the animals spent all day lying in the beautiful warm sun, eating yummy food, and, well I loooved to play with my silly little chicks! There were all sorts of chicks, just like all of you in the audience...some precious little chicks and some medium sized chicks, and some chicks that had grown big and strong from eating lots and lots and LOTS of that yummy food. But today, my friends, was a different sort of wonderful day. From the hen yard, you could see that the wheat in the field had grown tall. It had grown VERY tall, thanks to the bright sun shining down onto the farm. In fact, it was taller than the feathers on the tippy top of my head. It was at that very moment I realized that it was finally time for this wheat to be harvested. I thought to myself, "Little Red Hen, this wheat would make a VERY delicious bread!" It was shiny and golden like a ray of sunlight! I was so excited! And suddenly hungry! So I jumped, I pecked, and I baawwwwkkkkkkeedd! I gathered as much of the wheat as I could, but my wings were not strong enough to harvest it all by myself. I needed some help, so I rushed over to my good farm friends, Horse, Cow, and Pig to ask them if they would lend me a helping hand...or a helping hoof, or a helping snout. [Inviting audience] Would you sing along with me?
