Young People Theatre of Chicago's 2024-2025 season continues with Bob Marley's Three Little Birds. The joyous family-friendly musical celebrates the music and lyrics of Bob Marley-sharing the legendary reggae artist's message of peace and love with a new generation.

SEEKING BOB MARLEY'S THREE LITTLE BIRDS February 8 - March 2, 2025 Join us this winter in sunny Jamaica! Tropical storms and evil spirits lurk, but Ziggy's fine, feathered friends know that "every little thing is gonna be alright!" Infused with Bob Marley classics like "Stir it Up," "One Love," and "Jamming," Bob Marley's Three Little Birds is inspired by the delightful children's book Every Little Thing by Marley's own daughter, Cedella Marley.

We are seeking non-AEA POC actors for principal and understudy positions, and strongly encourage performers of all ages, sizes, and gender identities to submit.

Casting all roles and understudies. Because of its centrality in the African / Asian diaspora, Jamaica has a rich and diverse history with immigrants from Spain, China, India and Africa. The casting of our show will be uniquely diverse.

Pay: Rehearsal Rate: $275/week Performance Rate: $35/performance

Ziggy - Male identifying. Late teen/early 20s to play 11 year-old. A timid boy with long dreadlocks. Obsessed with TV watching.

Nansi - Female identifying. Late teen/early 20s to play 11 year-old. A trickster girl who loves the outdoors. (Also: Spanish Bird #2, British Coloniser Bird, Sister Indian Bird)

Duppy - All gender identifies. Age Open. An evil Spirit with long dreads made from stolen children's hair. (Also: Villager, Great Grandfather Spanish Bird)

Doctor Bird - Male Identifying. 20s-30s. A mystical bird, Ziggy's pet and best friend.

Cedella - Female identifying. 30s-40s. Ziggy's mother. (Also: Montego - a bird, Spanish Bird #1, Great Aunt African Bird)

Tacooma - All gender identities. Age open. A bird (Also: Villager, Great Grandmother British Bird, Cousin Chinese Bird)
