Description:
"Double-O-Chai: License to Shpiel" is a musical parody of the story from the 5th century BCE from the Book of Esther, set in the late 1960's in the imaginary country of Shushanova. Using a James Bond theme, It tells of how Esther wins the king's beauty contest, marries the King, and eventually saves the Jewish people from destruction from the wrath of the evil vizier Haman.
The key players are King Ahasuerus (male, 40-75), Mordecai (male, 30-75), Esther (female, 18-35), Queen Vashti (female, 18-50), Haman (male, 30-75), and three eunuch guards (any gender identity, 18-75). There are also 14 chorus roles (any gender identity, 18-75). The show will be cast without regard to race, religion, sexuality, or gender identity (where applicable)

Mondays, January 27. February 3, 10, 17 and 24
Tuesdays, January 21, February 4 and 11
Weeknights are from 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Sundays, January 19, 26 and February 2 from 9:30 am - 1:00 pm
February 9 from 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
February 16 and 23 from 9:30 am - 3:30 pm - Lunch provided by EHNTJC
Tech rehearsal Monday, February 24. Final Dress Thursday, February 27
Both are from 7:00 pm until completion.
Show Dates: Saturdays, March 1 and 8 at 8:00 p.m.
Sundays, March 2 and 9 at 1:30 p.m.
Be prepared to sing an UPBEAT song of your choice. Bring music in your key, if possible. Our musical director Howard Pfeifer will accompany you on piano. You will also read cold from the script.
