Summer Place Theatre, Naperville's Community Theatre since 1966 is accepting applications for a Production Manager for our 2025 Season: Little Shop of Horrors and Legally Blonde. All rehearsals and performances will be in Naperville, IL.
The Production Manager is a key member of our production team, responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of theatrical productions. This stipend position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit to ensure the smooth execution of performances from pre-production to closing night.
Responsibilities
Production Oversight:
-Develop and manage production schedules in collaboration with directors and designers.
-Ensure adherence to timelines and budgets for all productions.
-Supervise stage managers, technical crews, and volunteers during production phases.
Logistics Management:
-Oversee load-in, technical rehearsals, and strike.
-Maintain inventory of technical and set materials, collaborating with the technical director as needed.
Budgeting and Procurement:
-Track production expenses and assist in managing the production budget.
-Coordinate purchasing and rental of production-related materials.
Health & Safety:
-Ensure compliance with safety protocols and theatre policies during rehearsals and performances.
-Address and resolve any production-related issues promptly.
Administrative Duties:
-Maintain detailed production records and documentation.
-Submit final reports post-production, outlining successes and challenges.
Qualifications
-Previous experience in production management, stage management, or a related theatre role is preferred.
-Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
-Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
-Familiarity with budgeting and resource management.
-Knowledge of technical theatre, including lighting, sound, and set design, is a plus.
-Commitment to fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and positive environment.
Stipend: $1,500
This stipend position requires flexibility, including evening and weekend availability, particularly during rehearsals and performance runs. Monthly production meetings for both shows will begin early 2025, weekly production meetings for both shows will begin during rehearsals. Rehearsals will begin in April for Little Shop of Horrors and May for Legally Blonde.

Little Shop of Horrors Performances: June 20,21,22,27,28,29
Legally Blonde Tech week: July 20-24
Legally Blonde Performances: July 25,26,27, August 1,2,3
Set Strike and Load out: Evening of August 3rd
Final walk through with Auditorium Manager: Morning of August 4th
