Description | Phil gives a lesson to Bob on character and honesty |
Summary
Larry Mann (Kevin Spacey), Phil Cooper (Danny DeVito) and Bob Walker (Peter Facinelli) work in the industrial lubricant business. Larry and Phil are salesmen and Bob is a young devout Baptist who works in research and development. "The Big Kahuna" refers to a big client they are trying to land.
The big client invites Bob to an exclusive party and Larry and Phil realize they are going to depend on Bob. When he returns Bob confesses to them that instead of trying to sell their product he decided to talk about Jesus to the client.
In this monologue a world-weary Phil gives a philosophical speech to Bob about character and honesty, that after all there isn't much difference between Larry selling lubricants and him preaching Jesus.

PHIL: "Hes honest Bob; hes blunt as well. That sometimes is part of being honest, because there are a lot of people who are blunt. But not honest. Larry is not one of those. Larry is an honest man. You too are an honest man, Bob...." |
