Summary
Set in the backdrop of WWI in Turkey in a medical mission founded by Dr Woodruff, the Ottoman Lieutenant is a love triangle story between Lillie, an American nurse, Jude, an American Doctor and Ismail, a lieutenant in the Ottoman army. After having stopped a group of Armenian rebels, the Ottoman army enters the medical mission and Ottoman Army Captain confronts Dr. Woodruff in this 30 second monologue about the fact that he is helping Armenian soldiers that are wounded. When he leaves he gives this short monologue on the fact that he thinks Turkish people are superior to Americans and Europeans.
