Summary
Jacob Harlon is a stockbroker who ends up in prison for vehicular manslaughter while driving drunk. In prison he ends up getting involved with a gang of the Aryan Brotherhood. During a prison riot Jacob defends another gang member, ends up killing a prisoner and is caught on camera. Because of that he is given an additional sentence of 10 years and solitary confinement where he is only allowed to go outside in the yard for 1 hour a day in a steel cage. There he meets “Beast”, the head of the Aryan Brotherhood that has been running the gang’s activities from prison through corrupt prison guards. This is the speech the “Beast” gives Jacob when he arrives.
