Summary
Jim O'Connor is a nice guy in his mid twenties that works as a clerk in a warehouse. His workmate, Tom Wingfield, invites him over for dinner at his house and introduces him to his sister Laura, a very shy and sensitive girl who is also crippled and spends most of her time with her glass collection (hence the title of the play). Laura actually remembers Jim from highschool and falls in love with him.
In this scene Jim and Laura dance. Jim accidentally breaks one piece of her glass collection and then kisses her. Laura kisses him back and is delighted by his advance. After the kiss, however, in this monologue Jim confesses that he already has a girlfriend and goes on telling her how he met her and how she changed his life...
