Summary
This film follows two storylines, one is about Geena (Kim Basinger) who is married with kids but is cheating on her husband with Nick (Joaquim de Almeida). Geena and Nick secretly meet in a trailer in the middle of nowhere. One day, by accident, the trailer catches fire and explodes, killing them. Geena's teenage daughter, Mariana (Jennifer Lawrence) starts a relationship with Nick's son, Santiago (J.D. Pardo).
In the other storyline Sylvia (Charlize Theron), an insecure woman who has many brief love affairs, is approached by a Mexican man who introduces her to Maria, a little girl that he says is her daughter. Maria's dad has had an accident and in the hospital he asked to find Sylvia for him.
The twist is, Sylvia is the grown up Mariana and Maria's dad is Santiago. We also learn that their parent's death wasn't an accident. Mariana, learning about her mother's love affair, burned the trailer and it accidentally exploded killing them both.
In this emotional monologue Sylvia/Mariana talks to Santiago, who appears to be sleeping. She cries and confesses what she has done...
