Neil London
Director
I've been working with film for over 8 years, always learning and growing in my knowledge and skill. At 17 I had received 4 awards in filmmaking all from the Future Filmmaker Festival held in Bend, Oregon sponsored by Bend Film including; Best Actor, 2nd and 3rd place narrative, and best experimental video.
I write, direct, DP, edit, sound design, act, and produce. Having just finished being the First AD on my first production, that I haven't created on my own, with enough dedication to be promoted to co-director, I've come a long way from being some kid who loved to make videos.
I grew up around many media facets my entire life. My father, having been a professional musician the first 8 years of my life, was the one who inspired me to try out film. I saw him night after night editing together footage for a local access television show and finally decided I wanted to try it myself. It was in that very same chair, that I saw my father edit those shows, that I discovered I wanted to be a filmmaker. I was 15.
I live, eat, and breathe film. I had many difficulties getting into The Art Institute of Portland do to financial reasons, but I never let that stop me from learning on my own. I've participated and worked on many independent features, shorts, and videos from no-budget to low-budget.
I do not let obstacles get in my way of creating and I am more then confident in what I can accomplish. I know there is much more to learn and I am eager to learn anything and everything I can from whoever and whatever pertains to the industry. That is how I am able to do what I can now and have made an impact and impression with the network I have formed here in Portland. I am the little guy with amazing potential and power!
