Summary
Greybeard, leader of the Vikings, is at the court of King Vortigern. The king promises him 10000 young boys under the age of 12 and 5000 more every year in exchange of free passage through their seas. Greybeard, however, has heard of the legend of the sword and Arthur and reluctantly asks in this short 30 second monologue if the boys the king is giving him are really his subjects...

Greybeard: “The north is ours? (Sighs repeatedly and looks hesitant). There are rumors, Great King. Even across the seas, we have heard the legend of the sword...of a king...other than yourself. I would be doing my own king a disservice if I did not ask this question...Are the boys yours to give? (Pause) I meant no disrespect, Great King.” |
