Summary
The movie follows Sam "Ace" Rothstein and Nicky Santoro, two mobsters who move to Las Vegas in the 70s. Rothstein is put by the mob to run the Tangiers casino and Santoro gets in the business of robbing and shaking down local bookmakers and gamblers. Eventually things go sour and the heat is on. Rothstein's gambling license is revoked and the FBI investigate him. He is not allowed to run a casino anymore but, to get around it and still hang around the casino, starts his own tv show in the hotel. In a meeting with a mob boss, Rothstein mentions that Santoro is bringing a lot of heat on him and to quiet things down a bit it would be wise for Santoro to leave town for a while. When Santoro finds out about it he gets pissed and asks Rothstein to meet him in the desert....
