INT. APARTMENT-NIGHT KEN: "Tom and Ellen are funny, aren't they? All that carrying on about ESP and parapsychology. You think they'd be more sensible. And then when you put it down so unequivocally I thought they'd die. You were a little cruel however correct." MARION: "I was so tired I was in a stinking mood. Who knows, maybe they're right. Maybe there's more to life than meets the eye. What the hell do I know?" KEN: "Well, their beliefs are one step ahead of ouija boards. All that talk about their trip to Greece. You'd think no one had ever sailed the Greek islands before." MARION: "If we are so contemptuous of Tom and Ellen why do we go out with them?" KEN: "I am not contermptuous of them. It's just when they get onto certain topics. Next week will be flying saucers." MARION: "Why do we have to see people every night anyway? We never spend any time alone." KEN: "Well, that's not so." MARION: "Yes it is so. Every night's friends. Yours, mine, people we hardly know." KEN: "We've known Tom and Ellen for years..." MARION: "And you don't even enjoy him..." KEN: "Of course I do." MARION: "Oh, come on. You've spoken contemptously many times because he's a radiologist which you don't take seriously." .... |
